COACHES CORNER Coaching Philosophy The football program must be a positive example of the integration of academic and athletic success. As coaches, we must motivate each student-athlete to pursue excellence in the classroom and in every endeavor in life. For the majority of our student-athletes football only will last through their time at this school. We are obligated to prepare each and every one of our student-athletes to secure a diploma and to prepare them for their next step in life. We will demand a commitment to excellence and this commitment will show up as our student/athletes walk across the graduation stage and reach for their diploma. A student/athlete's time at this school must be one of their most enjoyable and meaningful experiences in their life. The football player at this institution is in a favorable and unique position. He will be part of a successful team and must learn to work and function effectively and cohesively with a wide variety of personalities. Working within the structure a team he learns how to overcome his ego, to live beyond himself and be part of something bigger than the individual athlete.
